Bukit Rengit, Krau Wildlife Reserve

This is a small reserve that is close to Kuala Lumpur, making it a perfect short trip from the capital. The habitat is lowland rainforest and it supports similar species to Taman Negara. Many good birds have been recorded here including all 4 lowland trogons, all 3 frogmouths, Rufous-collared Kingfisher, Banded and Garnet Pittas, Rail Babbler and a whole host of supporting cast of bulbuls, babblers, leafbirds etc. Bukit Rengit is also great for a stop over en route to Taman Negara, a good introduction and to maximise good birding time.
